Sunday Club - Welcoming Children

Introduction

Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. (Matthew 19:13-15)

One famous quote reads, ¨children are the future church¨ However at St Philip and St James Church we believe that children are not only the future church but they are the church of today as well as tomorrow.

What is Sunday Club?

Sunday Club focusses on the nurturing of faith to children from 5-11 years old. This is done through story telling, role playing, singing and arts and crafts activities. All visting children within this age bracket are welcome to attend Sunday Club. Soft toys and books are available in a designated space within the church for the use of children under 5 years old during the service under the supervision of a responsible adult. Donations of more toys and books are welcome. The strengthening of Sunday club is one of the church´s mid-term strategies for church growth.

Sunday Club Teachers

Though the church council is the key driver for the strengthening of this ministry, it realizes this function through dedicated and committed volunteers who teach and coordinate Sunday Club sessions and activities. Each session takes place under the supervision of a leader and an assistant. Please consider joining this exciting ministry if you feel that God is calling you.
